StoryChime began the same way many great adventures do: at bedtime.
Every night, I'd make up stories for my daughter Faraday, drawing inspiration from our everyday life. A trip to the zoo turned into a jungle adventure. A rainy day became a magical storm cloud race.
I wanted a way to keep track of the stories we loved most. The ones that made her giggle or sit up wide-eyed. So I built a little app just for us. Then I added a sound effect generator to bring the stories to life. When Faraday heard a dragon roar or a sparkly magic chime, she was hooked, and so was I.
Our bedtime routine quickly became our favorite part of the day. We were creating memories together, not just consuming content, but shaping it. I started to wonder if other families might enjoy this too.
So I decided to take it further and reached out to my friend and old coworker, Mr. Bobby. He and I have always seen the world through a similar lens. We both believe in the power of technology to bring people closer together, grounded in faith, creativity, and a deep commitment to family values. Building StoryChime wasn't just a fun technical challenge. It felt like a calling. A way to help other parents create meaningful moments with their kids. Mr. Bobby immediately saw the potential and jumped on board.
Together, we've spent the last few months building StoryChime: a fun, safe, and magical way for parents and kids to bond through storytelling. From sparkly fairytales to silly animal adventures, we wanted it to feel open-ended, creative, and warm, just like those first stories I told Faraday.
